I know this video is old and that it's nowhere near Christmas (however, it's never too early to enjoy a little holiday cheer!), but I just wanted to show you a tiny something that I love about this video. When most youtube famediggers start up their videos, they adjust the cam to center on their faces for the duration of the song. Despite having a lovely face, Zee Avi, a.k.a KokoKaina, does just the opposite… bringing the camera down to focus on the source of the music. The guitar.
All these people drinking lover's spit They sit around and clean their face with it They listen to teeth to learn how to quit Tied to a night they never met
You know it's time That we grow old and do some shit I like it all that way

"Waiting on the World to Change" by John Mayer This song.. this song. I can't even explain it. It's this feeling of sweet warmth and toasty reminiscence, nostalgia that fills my belly just the way that I think Butterbeer would. And though I don't want to give into John Mayer anymore, I have to when it comes to this song. It evolves in meaning to me with every play. Endlessly faceted, and yet so deliciously simple. When summer was good, when I didn't even fully understand the goodness of this song... when I was so simply happy. Just carefree.
